The proposed Eco City in Lusaka, designed to sustainably provide business development and housing opportunities for anybody.
The city’s modern design incorporates the use of re-purposed shipping containers, energy generated from solar panels, pavings made from recycled plastic, water reservoir points to collect rain water and a sewer plant on site to produce methane gas.
With the wonderful IZB vision in mind we designed this 5 storey building with two fully submerged basements for staff and customer’ parking.
Two pods house meeting rooms and a glass cubicle auditorium, covered with a large soft roof.
The facility also includes quiet working spaces, meeting facilities, access to electric outlets as well as event halls.
The AFLIFE Ridgeway hostels building is a timeless 21st century building, a modern classic.
The thoroughly collaborative design process ensured that the building expresses the vision that AFLIFE had for a city scape apartment building.
The building was designed with visual and physical connections that allow the internal and external spaces to become one while giving the feeling of the ground floor being set into the landscape.
Internally, abundant natural light reaches all parts of the floor plates, maximising user comfort.
Skylight cones in the atrium filter natural refracted light into the central space and the building is oriented predominantly north/south to minimize heat exposure.
We spared no detail to ensure a comfortable living environment for all it’s residents..
Saturnia Regna trusted us with imagining and designing a hostel block as vivid as the students that will occupy it.
We are very proud to have left an impact on the hardworking students that will call these hostels home.
The louvres edges form subtle wave-shaped laser
cut patterns with structural
offsets.
The office space is
elevated on a series of pilotis, separating it from
the corporate lifestyle
areas on the ground
floor. The generous use
of glass and light creates
a spacious interior for a
more comfortable work
environment.
The new sustainable Goshen city boarders Lake
Malawi. The design incorporates recycled materials
and a dedicated solar field to generate energy off the
grid. It will have a university, CBD, housing and golf estate, a
country club, 20,000 capacity mini stadium, recording
studios, hotel resorts and luxury living units.
The city will also maintain the surrounding natural
forestry.
The Raphie convention center is designed with multiple
conference areas, a regular auditorium as well as
another multipurpose one that can be converted into
a sports hall.
The center also includes rooms for accommodation.
The idea behind the design was to create a simple
green building with a contemporary architectural form.
The design is bold and mostly composed of clean
planes with extensive use of flush glazing on the north
and south facades.
The building geometry creates generous overhangs
restricting glare and offering shaded areas on the
office desks. The geometry naturally shades exposed
glazed areas and prevents excessive heat loss on these
facades.
To emphasize on sustainability, we designed the
VIVO energy building to complement it’s natural
surroundings while maintaining a modern aesthetic. Surrounding trees will be maintained and vertical
gardens are incorporated to beautify the space.
Solar panels are used to supplement the building’s
energy supply.
